Drew Morrison

Experienced and Ready on Day One

As a Legislative Senior Aide to former three-term District 1 Councilmember Roger Berliner (2006-2018), Drew advanced major policy reforms at the County and State level.

His work included creating the first County-level Green Bank in the nation to finance job-creating clean energy projects, bringing Montgomery County into the Vision Zero movement to eliminate traffic deaths, fighting for consumers against predatory towing practices, and protecting the environment and ratepayers during the Pepco-Exelon merger.

Beyond the big policy work, Drew helped District 1 residents navigate County government and fix everyday quality of life issues. Drew knows how to get a pothole fixed or a tree trimmed.

Drew has served as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Maryland Department of Transportation since 2023. His responsibilities have included supporting the Department’s major projects and capital budget, its environmental portfolio, and economic development initiatives. He was detailed to the Francis Scott Key Bridge response and was recognized as “Employee of the Year” in the Secretary’s Office in 2024.

Drew Morrison

A Consensus Builder

As a transportation planning consultant, Drew supported County efforts to improve transit access to job centers, such as the new Great Seneca Transit Network in Rockville and Gaithersburg.

He also managed major transportation projects throughout the region, including a re-imagining of Washington Union Station and a multi-million dollar portfolio to provide transportation improvements to support Amazon HQ2.

Across all these projects, Drew was responsible for building consensus among stakeholders to resolve differences, break barriers, and help communities move forward – together.

Raised in District 1

Drew was raised in Bethesda. He grew up playing B-CC Baseball and MSI Soccer, watching Big Train games on summer nights, and acting in Imagination Stage programs.

His parents live in Mohican Hills in the home that Drew grew up in. He and his wife Nicole live in downtown Bethesda. This is where Drew’s home is and he is eager to fight for its future.

Drew Morrison

A Committed Democratic Activist

In the wake of the first Trump election, Drew and his wife Nicole co-founded EveryDistrict – a political action committee that raised over $3.5 million for more than 250 state legislative campaigns in 12 states.

This highly-targeted and intentional approach helped to flip from Republican-controlled to Democratic-controlled the Virginia legislature in 2019, the Michigan legislature in 2022, and the Pennsylvania State House in 2022.

EveryDistrict supported candidates that protect and advance Democratic values, including reproductive healthcare, economic equality, and climate action.
